Yano Sumampow

Yano Sumampow is the senior photographer in why imaging. He direct and standardize all things here. start from style, equipment, pre-production, production, post-production and finalize end product to customer
He started this wedding photography business in 2006, right after he move from Surabaya. Before in Surabaya he helped Indigo studio, a wedding photography company to establish and set-up business standard, from their pre-production, production and post-production.

His passion in photography started at his young age of 10, when his father gave him a Kodak Ektra 100, a candy bar camera with 110 film, and he started to photograph anything, especially building. His primary school located behind the Catholic cathedral in Bandung, that’s why He was very impress with architectural and building. His ambition as an architect halt when he was fail the entrance exam in architecture study, but his passion in art still intact. Trying to expand his ability in photography he was joined Journalism Study in University of Padjadjaran, once again, in terms of art, he was not very satisfied, than he was joined Lasalle College, majoring in Multimedia and Graphics Design.

in 2002 he started to learn seriously about photography by joining several photographer master in Jakarta as an apprentice, to learn studio lighting, angle, timing, business and also behavior (the most important thing in photography business). He started his photography career as a contributor in magazine. From featured editorial till magazine cover. Other than that he is working on wedding photography as well as additional work, but he apparently fell in love with a job that requires all the skills of photography, from lighting, portraiture, capturing the emotion, composing events, taking the details of party accessories etc, and started thinking seriously about this genre of photography.

As he move to Bali, an island of destination wedding, he started to work as a professional wedding photographer, he is working with passion and confident, trying to capture the emotion of wedding in a well composed picture with a touch of art. His style of photojournalism illustrated in all his picture, other than that, his style of fashion editorial photography too, he can compose couple with their best lifestyle picture.

General Manager

Josephine Milka

Josephine Milka is general manager of why imaging, she is the one who run all the company operation. Before, She is a Fashion Editor in Herworld Magazine before move to Bali and started why imaging wedding photography with his husband, Yano. Other than that, she is a fashion stylist for pre wedding photo shoot in why imaging, mix and match wardrobe and also concepting all the photoshoot from the scratch.

Associate Photographers

Merdi Uriko

Merdi Uriko is a hobbyist with a passion, his career in wedding photography, started when he was met Yano Sumampow, in a photography workshop in Surabaya. Later he moved to Bali. In Bali He joined why imaging as an associate photographer. He was mentored by Yano himself to be a best wedding photographer. His passion of photography illustrated in his picture. Other than a wedding photographer, why imaging, give him a chance to be an editorial and commercial photographer too. he was shooting for several Indonesia magazine, and also some commercial for villa and hotels

Tonny

Tonny is photographer who was born with a great talent. He was studying photography in Melbourne, Australia. He met Yano Sumampow and become his partner in wedding photography while he was working in Indigo Studio Surabaya. His passion with wedding photography illustrated in his candid style picture, he never set his couple, everything is going with the flow. His photography charactes is match with why imaging style, that’s why, Yano himself, ask him to joined as an associate photographer in why imaging. He will joined later in mid of 2013

Osel Gunarso

Osel started his career with why imaging as an apprentice, when his school, Petra University sent him to Bali. After graduating, he started his career in Portrait, a wedding photography company in Surabaya. Because he was not comfortable living in urban noise and pollution, he move to Bali. his passion of wedding photography and his good work, pave the way for Yano, asked him to joined as an associate photographer. He will joined later in mid 2012
